The USC Prosthodontic Clinic can help restore your smile to its optimum appearance and function. Dental implants replace missing teeth and restore smiles with crowns that look and function naturally. During the initial consultation, the dentist will discuss the necessary steps to complete your transformation. The procedure varies by patient, but generally includes the installation of an abutment, implant, and crown over the course of several visits. A dental implant is placed in the jawbone so that it can fuse with your natural bone and become a strong and sturdy foundation for replacement teeth. Implants can be used to replace an individual tooth or for an implant-supported bridge or denture containing multiple teeth. Dental implants are the closest you can get to healthy, natural teeth. They will allow you to confidently eat, smile, laugh, talk, play and enjoy all of your regular activities of everyday life without thinking about your teeth.
Under the supervision of our expert faculty, dental students and residents (dentists in training) provide high-quality care at reduced rates. Since we are a teaching institution and care is delivered in an instructional environment, treatment times are sometimes longer than in a private practice setting. The School of Dentistry USC Endodontic Clinic specializes in the study, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases associated with the roots of the teeth. Endodontic services aim to save the patient’s natural teeth by restoring dental health and function. Our clinic performs root canal treatment and other procedures to treat the inner tooth and roots and to restore teeth through placement of fillings or crowns.
